Step 1
Before we get into this project, we need to prepare some tools and materials. If you have a tons of empty or shipping boxes at home, you can take them to do this project without throwing them away. Next, you need rope; in here, I am using rope spool from Michaels. You also need a glue gun, packaging tape and craft knife.
Step 2
Right now using the craft knife cut off lips or you can do like me to make a cover for my container by cutting the three edges along a side.You do not need to cut the edge perfectly straight because we will fix it later.
The box will be opened like what I did in my project, and this is the way how to make the cover for your container.
Making the cover in this project is to consider you might need to storge some files or documents to prevent prevent dust.
Step 3
After the cover has been made, you will continue to use package tape to glue up the openings in the box in order to enhance the box to make it last longer.
Step 4
If you did not cut the edge of the box perfectly straight, you can use the rope like I did on the image to use the glue gun to glue the rope along the edge to cover it. And then continue to wrape around the box until covering the whole box or half of the box, which depends on the length of your rope.
Step 5
Here, my rope only can cover half of the box. If yours is like my situation, you can use Scotch masking tape or wraping paper to cover the rest to reach the desire you want.
Final Step
Finally, this is the final look of this project. This project is not difficult and it is simple to create a storage container by yourself with your own tast.You also save money from doing this project and save the environment. I hope you can find this project helpful and enjoy yourself by doing it.
